What is causing my excess thirst and brain fog?

I’ve noticed I’ve been really thirsty today and peeing a lot (probably linked lol) and my minds really foggy and I feel muzzy (kinda headachey without the headache - I don’t know how to explain it).

Is this in anyway linked to the contraceptive pill (in the past 4 days I’ve switched from Microgynon 30 to Yasmin)?

Also I’ve heard Yasmin helps weight loss - which as I have PCOS is really handy - is this true?

Thanks for your help!

Re: dehydration - I've drunk 1 1/2 litres of pure plain water today and I'm currently drinking my way through another 75cl.
This isn't including my morning cup of coffee and 2 cups of spearmint tea I've had!

I thought 2 litres a day was about right? Should I be drinking more!?

xx

unfortunately dont know much about yasmin, but the symptoms in the first part of your question are very likely due to dehydration.. try drinking more water (sounds obvious, i know, but many people confuse dehydration symptoms for something else, when really all you need is water)

sorry, you didnt say anything about water in your original post. must be contraceptive related. why dont you check the symptoms on the contraceptive, or ask your doctor when you switched?

Punctal Plugs and Tension Headaches?

Posted by: admin on May 19th, 2009

I suffer from tension headache, painful eyes, fatigue, brain fog, floating vertigo, sensitive and tender skin on my scalp, sometimes slight nausea and sometimes it feels like I was hit on the head with a club a few days ago. I've been to all the doctors. I did have punctal plugs put in before a lot of this started, but that could be a coincidence since this is all happening in my 40s.

Can punctal plugs cause these things?

One is reluctant to say "impossible", these days, but I can't think of one reason, likely or unlikely, why punctal plugs could or would cause such symptoms.

I used to be very into working out and bodybuilding but about 3 months ago i was working out and doing shrugs (basiclly like shurgging your shoulders with weight, targeting the traps) and i was using 540lbs, yes it was hard and yes i was stupid because during it i felt my traps and neck muscles strain and they started hurting really bad and now my visions is messed up, i get flashes and sparks, and sometimes blind spots which go away after sleeping, i feel out of it, tired, brain fog, trouble remembering, headaches, VERY bad neck aches so im thinking my neck and shoulder muscles got torn/pinched nerve or something and is causing poor ciculation tothe brain which could be causing this stuff, oh and i have heart problems a murmur, cortaion of the ahorta, and a bicuspid tricuspid valve if it matters…Sorry for it beaing so long, Any help would be gratefull

Thanks!
bumping my question

Muscle strain and inflammation around your neck will definitely cause headaches but I think it is imperative that you see an optometrist to see if the straining caused a broken blood vessel. Vision and memory problems can also arise from migraines. There are such things as ocular migraines that cause the vision issues, neck and headaches, as well as temporary cognitive issues. These can also be diagnosed and treated by an optometrist; if insurance to see the specialist is an issue, a general practitioner may also help.
